The inception might be in Chinese therapy, but it plays a significant role in all ancient recovery procedures including Ayurved.

Now what are yin and yang? These are simply two opposite energies residing in the body. Yin and yang may be considered as female and male, summer and winter, earth and heaven, cold and hot, cathode and anode – or any such paradox.

Keep in mind that for any electrical flow there must exist positive and negative points. Ayurved has been continuously putting stress on an electrical flow inside the body.

The principle is a proper balance between yin and yang inside the body gives you the complete relaxed mindset to produce and enhance your energy level for any activity. Similarly an improper balance of yin and yang causes all sorts of disorders or ailments in your body and mind.

The primitive people used to believe in two separate flows inside the body by two main functionaries heart and lung. 1) Heart pumps blood that smoothly flows through veins, arteries and capillaries. 2) Prana – the life force a powerful energy flows to the meridians, which is pumped by the lungs.

Here we want to state that concept of internal energy is not new in the world of physicians of the primitive age. There are several civilizations, which have inculcated and nurtured the concept of the internal energy level or life forces.

If we try to find out the parallel concepts we need to delve into the several contemporary civilization.

In China the internal energy used to be referred as Ki. The Hebrew traditions used to believe in nefesh while the Japanese used to call this as Ki. Even it had been practiced vividly in Asian countries like Burma and Tibet.

Whatever the name may be or whatever the way it might be practiced, most of the ancient civilizations used to acknowledge the inner energy flow of the body.
