Cancer is malignant and still today, it is treated as a serious disease. Even today, 100% success is not guaranteed. We will try to figure out the Ayurved approach towards cancer.

Unlike any other systems, in Ayurved, prime importance is given to the physical, emotional and spiritual status of the patient.

In Ayurved, the disease is treated as an unwanted hindrance in the flow of the vital energy or prana in various channels of the body. In qigong it is called and imbalance between the Yin and Yang forms of energy. The root cause is the imbalance or the obstacle in the flow of prana in merdians due to either internal or external factor.

A simple internal cause may be the over eating, or additional stress, or even smoking or drinking. Externally the reason may be formulated as environment, it’s drastic change, pollution etc. Whatever the reason may be it disturbs the normal flow of prana inside the body.

So, in Ayurved, the cancer is not treated as an isolated disease, rather the root cause is analyzed and then accordingly the medicine or therapy is applied. That’s the reason, why Ayurved physicians focuses much more on pulse bit and syndromes, and tries to delve into the history of the patient, rather than prescribing the medicines based on symptoms only.

Even in case of cancer, it largely depends upon analyzing the root cause and tries to find out the staging of cancer. The best part is that in Ayurved, dedicated research institutes have been formed in various part of the world to find the decay. Athulya Ayurvedic Medical Research Centre (AAMRC), Calicut India has been working on cancer research and also providing therapy to the unfortunate cancer patients and their success ratio is quiet encouraging. Bharatiya Sanskriti Darshan Trust, engaged with ‘Ayurved for Cancer’ for more than a decade, have organized multiple International events about “Ayurved for Cancer”.
